Old city and wine tasting

Berat

Berat is known as the city of a thousand windows, a captivating city that blends rich history, stunning natural landscapes, and a vibrant cultural heritage. Berat offers an enchanting experience that transports visitors back in time while embracing the beauty of the present.

Beautiful Ottoman houses, a medieval castle, mosques side by side with medieval churches, a picturesque location under the majestic mountain Tomorr. All this makes Berat one of the biggest tourist attractions in all of Albania. The city's unusually well-preserved historical character has rightfully earned its inclusion on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Unlike many other tourist destinations, Berat still retains the pleasant atmosphere of a lively city despite the increasing number of visitors.

During the trip we also taste wines from most famous Albanian winery COBO: you will enjoy a great atmosphere around wine house and with the opportunity to taste several samples of wine and antipasta.

Beautiful experience for all nature lovers

National park Divjake and Ardenica Monastery

Not far from Durres you can find a peaceful piece of nature right by the sea. The largest lagoon Karavasta is part of the Divjakë Karavasta National Park and is separated from the Adriatic Sea by a large strip of sandy beach. The lagoon has been identified as an Important Bird Area by BirdLife International, because it supports significant populations of various bird species. This area is also famous for great fish and other seafood.

Our trip will start at the visitor centre where you can look around forests and sea from the new watchtower. We will then walk nice wooden paths along the wetland in the pleasant shadow of Mediterranean trees. In a few minutes we will reach the starting point of our boat trip on a lagoon. This is also a great chance to enjoy views of wild nature on the shore of the lagoon. You can also see local fishermen at work using their unique fishing methods. There will be plenty of time to choose a nice restaurant serving traditional fish and seafood. We will then discover more of the local history on a visit to a Byzantine monastery, which was built in 1282 and it is the only one in the whole of Albania where monks still live. After that, we will transfer back to Durres.

Off road trip and a visit of castle Kruja

Lake Bovilla

Experience Albanian off road driving through the countryside along lake Boville's pure blue waters. You will have the posibility to hike to an amazing viewpoint, or stay at the lower viewpoint near the trail and take pictures. Then we will continue our adventurous ride in wild nature.

We will finish our trip in the city of Kruja. It is a great symbol for Albanians: from here, Skanderberg defeated the Turks. You will visit the castle and a typical Ottoman market.

Let me to give you suggestion. If no SUV or Off Road car easy to visit lake Bovilla and city Kruja like separate trips. Easy to get on both places using regural car. Sure, to get the lake it needs little handy driver due to horrible road.

One of the most beautiful beaches

Day at a famous Gjeneralit beach

Do you want to escape and spend a day at a calm beach surrounded by greenery and rocks? Come with us to Gjeneralit beach where you will find peace and nature, with the convenience and comfort of sunbeds, toilets and a restaurant. We will drop you at Gjeneralit and pick you up in the afternoon. Do not hesitate to come and explore another beach!

The General's beach (Alb. Plazhi i Gjeneralit) is one of the most beautiful in the whole of northern and central Albania. By local standards, it is exceptionally well maintained and the sea, unlike other beaches in the area, is very clean.

The beach was named after an Italian army general who spent his family vacation here before the Second World War. It is a small bay surrounded by rocky hills at the end of the road leading from Kavaji towards the coast.

Lost Cape in northern Albania

Cape Rodon

Cape Rodon is best seen from an airplane when landing or taking off from TIA, Tirana International Airport. I recommend booking seats on the right side for your arrival. The window opens up a view of the entire coast. Rodon is located north of the city of Durres. There is no road along the coast. You have to drive towards Tirana and turn off at Maminas. You can plan the trip as a half-day. I recommend bringing a drink and a snack. There is no refreshments on site. And also bring a swimsuit and proper footwear.

Nothing dangerous awaits you upon arrival. Both access roads are newly paved and both connect. Later the road is very narrow and still nice, about 15km long. The last few kilometers are broken and you need to drive very carefully. Actually, step by step! There is a toll gate at the very end. In 2026 we paid 300LEK for two people and a car.

From the parking lot you will already see the ancient and newly renovated church of St. Anthony. The description says that the church was destroyed by an earthquake. The church is located on the coast, where there is a fairly good entrance to the sea. Don't expect a clean beach. The immediate surroundings of the pilgrimage site are well maintained, but the surrounding area is spoiled by a lot of garbage.

Then head to the Rodon promontory itself. You will reach a gate that should be open. And then follow the path up and down to the remains of a medieval fortress from the 15th century, built by the Albanian national hero Skanderbeg. You will move over steep cliffs with beautiful views of the entire coast.

Let me remind you that there are beaches and accommodation on the southern side of the peninsula. I found a recommendation for Iliavik beach, which you can reach by car. Unfortunately, we missed this beach.

Have a nice trip.
